6 Dimensions Of Thinking, 1 Steering Wheel For Success

Thought leads to belief, and belief leads to attitudes. Attitudes influence while beliefs inform actions, and ultimately actions become habits which shape character that then forges destiny. This is the growth path that is taken by that powerful entity known as Thought.   But what is a Thought, anyway? Are thoughts things? What constitutes a Thought? What cannot be considered a Thought?   For a thing that occurs about 50,000 times a day in an average person’s brain, I have come to believe that there are actually 6 dimensions of thinking and at least 1 way of steering your thoughts… Read more »

Letting Go Of Perfection

“The power of discovery enables us to achieve excellence without having to be “perfect.’” – Thomas Crum, The Magic of Conflict I arrived at the conference center ready to present my workshop. Almost immediately I noticed the room was too small and it was not set up as requested. There were no flip charts and there were tables, though I had specifically asked for open space. I caught myself and smiled. I drew the word D I S C O V E R Y in large letters on a piece of newsprint and put it at the front of the… Read more »

The Embarrassment of Self Development

For a long time I yearned to improve myself; my true inner self, but something was holding me back. I made a lot of excuses back then; I didn’t have time; I was too tired; I wasn’t sure what direction my search should take. However, the truth was I felt embarrassed about opening myself up, especially to those close to me. All that changed when I went for a stroll along a Danish beach. I went to Denmark for a short camping holiday. I stayed on a small island in the North Sea. It was beautiful, very peaceful; just what… Read more »

You are Magic

“Magic (ma-jic): an extraordinary power or influence seemingly from a supernatural source”. The attempt to define magic is difficult at best. It is used more as a word to define, than one that can be defined. The same can be said for who you are. We attempt to define ourselves, yet no adequate words exist to describe the complexity of who we are. We can describe what we look like, the type of work we do, our ethnic heritage or gender. Yet, that comes nowhere near the truth of what animates your being. You are a mystery. You are magic…. Read more »

Take Responsibility for Your Life

One of the biggest challenges that most people face in the exiting times we live in, is the feeling that their lives are just spiraling out of control. It is interesting to note that most of society is free.  There is a percentage of the populous that is incarcerated for crimes against society.  So too, are there people who live in political cultures that do not value the freedom of its’ people.  Nevertheless, the majority of the people in the world live in relative freedom.  They can choose whom they marry, what they do for a living, and where they live.  Most societies allow their people to move around freely without restraint.  As long as an individual is obeying the laws, that person has wide latitude in conduct…. Gratitude the Secret to Happiness

People complain. They’re complaining all the time about everything. As a child, I was innocent enough to believe what people were saying. I really thought there were plenty of valid reasons to complain: the weather (most often), lack of money (runner-up), the neighbors, husband or wife, the children (me, in this case), civilization (or the lack of it), bad health, etc. I assumed the world just turned out to be like this and there was nothing much we could do. It was called “fate” or something. The thing to do was to pray. Not to ask for a better life…. Read more »
